Medical Care

"MIC has made a change in my life, and that is why I believe in MIC. They gave us food, shirts and other things and that is why I will never forget them. I feel so happy and proud of them for giving us things that we want. I am saying thank you for everything that you have done for us."

Raquille Evans, Student, Mount Waddy Primary School, Friendship, Jamaica

The Melbourne and Michael Folkes Foundation, partnered with health professionals from the United States & Jamaica successfully carried out our first medical/dental health fair at the Mt. Waddy Primary School in Friendship St. Ann from Monday August 8th through Thursday August 11th 2016.

We served approximately 134 students and 168  adults with services such as:

  • Full physical assessments
  • Urine testing
  • Blood pressure testing
  • Blood sugar testing
  • Extractions
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Health education
  • Dental education
  • Eye screenings

It is our aim to annually host medical outreach programs such as these in rural parts of Jamaica where children and adults are in dire need of health care.
