Medical Care

"The Foundation means a lot to me. It is going to help me to use the computer and develop my skills. The Foundation is helping me to learn more about helping others – each one teach one. My attitude and behavior will change, and I will become a better person. I love this Foundation because it is helping my school to be the best school in the country."

Andrew Grazzel, Student, Mount Waddy Primary School, Friendship, Jamaica

The Melbourne and Michael Folkes Foundation, partnered with health professionals from the United States & Jamaica successfully carried out our first medical/dental health fair at the Mt. Waddy Primary School in Friendship St. Ann from Monday August 8th through Thursday August 11th 2016.

We served approximately 134 students and 168  adults with services such as:

  • Full physical assessments
  • Urine testing
  • Blood pressure testing
  • Blood sugar testing
  • Extractions
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Health education
  • Dental education
  • Eye screenings

It is our aim to annually host medical outreach programs such as these in rural parts of Jamaica where children and adults are in dire need of health care.
